The One Who Lurks in the Vents {Gamzee drabble}

"So then Karkat and Dave started fighting over the stupid pen, and then-"

A young she-troll sat in an empty respiteblock, seemingly talking and giggling amongst herself. She was situated near a vent, which was conveniently placed a little to the side of where she sat. The wall felt cold against her back, but she didn't mind in the least. At first glance, others would assume that the young girl was completely crazy. However, if you squinted really hard and concentrated on the darkness of the air vent, you would be able to see a pair of red and purple eyes that were seemingly glowing in the dark. The girl talked about all kinds of things to the one who hid in the vents. She knew he was there, for this was a daily routine.

"And then Dave told me that he was flushed for me. Isn't that great, GZ?"

The one in the vents growled lowly and slammed his fist on the metal below him with much force.
The young girl chuckled and smiled at the one in the vents.

"I was just kidding, Gamzee. I only have eyes for you."

The one in the vents honked in contentment, before reaching out to the girl. His clawed hand emerged from the shadows of the vents and he felt the area around him, looking For a smaller, softer hand to hold. The girl smiled fondly before taking his hand and stroking it lightly with her thumb. The one in the vents purred happily, closing his eyes to enjoy the moment. Soon, the girl was lulled to sleep by his deep purrs. The one in the vents smiled, and closed his eyes as well.
